Caleb Martin of the Miami Heat is a player to keep an eye on. Although he had been a college basketball sensation for years, it wasn’t until May 2023 that he gained national prominence following the Eastern Conference Final Game 7 between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.

Caleb started the series for the first time and played 45 minutes, scoring 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting. He also collected 10 rebounds to help the Miami Heat defeat the Celtics 103-84 and go to the NBA Finals.

Caleb’s talent is being recognized. However, many people are curious about Caleb’s history. What country is he from, and who are his parents? Did we also mention he’s a twin? Cody Martin, Caleb’s twin brother, is also a basketball superstar. Jenny Bennett, Caleb and Cody’s mother, reared her children as a single mother. There is no information available on the boys’ father. Caleb and Cody have an older sibling named Raheem as well.

According to the Reno Gazette Journal, Raheem, Caleb, and Cody were raised in a 300-square-foot trailer in Cooleemee, N.C., a hamlet of just over 900 people. Jenny worked three jobs, one of which was as a scan analyst at Food Lion. She got up at 2 a.m. every day and tried to get home by 3 p.m. to spend time with her sons after school. She went without eating at times to ensure there was enough food on the table for her children.

Jenny became pregnant with Raheem as a teen and was evicted from her family’s home. Caleb and Cody were born two and a half years later. Her boys were raised in less than ideal circumstances. Caleb stated that he and his siblings witnessed drug dealings and shootings at the apartment complex where they lived.

The males, on the other hand, realized she was giving it her all and couldn’t be happier. “I know it might sound cliché and corny, but she’s our hero,” Caleb told the site.

“Cody and I will reminisce about our childhood, and we now notice all of the things she didn’t let us in on when we were little, all of the things we realize now,” he continued. It was difficult, but mom made many sacrifices, such as not eating certain nights and turning down job chances, because she had no support at home and needed to be there for us.” Caleb and Cody played two seasons of college basketball at North Carolina State before transferring to the University of Nevada after winning full-ride scholarships. They attribute their whole achievement to their mother.

In 2020, the brothers attempted to compensate their mother for a portion of everything she had done for them by purchasing a new automobile.

“I used to be evicted.” Now I’ve purchased an automobile for my mother. “I’m so grateful,” Caleb captioned a shot of Jenny cheering from the driver’s seat on his Instagram Story. Caleb and Cody are mixed race. Jenny is white, while their father, whose identity remains unknown, is black. It is unknown whether they share a father with their older brother Raheem, who is also multiracial.
