When Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is feeling down, he turns to a source of comfort that’s both personal and powerful—his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s music.
During Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis, 35, opened up to his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce, about how Swift’s songs help him navigate tough moments.
“She has something for everything,” Travis explained, highlighting the versatility of Swift’s discography in matching different moods and emotions.
Jason, 37, agreed, acknowledging that Swift’s vast catalog makes it easy for listeners to find a song that resonates with whatever they’re feeling. However, the retired Philadelphia Eagles star admitted he takes a different approach when dealing with his emotions.
“When I’m feeling down, I go straight to sad country,” Jason shared. “No matter how bad I’m feeling, there’s a country guy who is singing about it and feeling way worse for me, and that gives me joy.”
Travis, on the other hand, is more intentional with his music choices, using them as a reflection of his emotional state.
“I listen to music that is very telling of my mood,” he explained before offering a deeper perspective on his mindset. “The only way you can find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first.”

A Swiftie at Heart
Kelce has never shied away from professing his love for Swift’s music, frequently sharing his favorite tracks and albums since they began dating in the summer of 2023.
During a Bussin’ With the Boys podcast appearance in June 2024, he named “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer,” and “So High School” as his top three Swift songs. More recently, he revealed that The Tortured Poets Department is his favorite album, joking that he’s “biased” because it includes songs inspired by their relationship.
Among the standout tracks for Kelce on Swift’s 2024 album are “So High School” and “The Alchemy,” both of which are widely speculated to reference their romance.
A Subtle Nod to Taylor?
While Travis didn’t delve further into his relationship with Swift on this week’s New Heights episode, he may have offered a subtle tribute through his wardrobe.
Fans quickly noticed that he was wearing two familiar fashion pieces from past date nights with Swift—a blue Marni shirt previously seen during an October 2024 outing in New York City and a black Tribeca hat he sported during another Big Apple date two months later.
Though he may not always speak about his relationship, Kelce’s appreciation for Swift—both as a person and as an artist—continues to shine through, proving that her music is more than just a global sensation; for him, it’s a source of comfort and connection.
