Team USA star Jordan Chiles has revealed that she is setting her sights on a new career in the world of real estate when her gymnastics career eventually comes to a close.

The 23-year-old etched her name into the history books over the summer, forming part of the triumphant American artistic all-round event team at the Paris Olympics. Earning gold as part of that quintet including Simone Biles, “Chick” contributed scores on all four apparatuses en route to securing first place for her country.

Alongside this, the youngster also earned bronze in the floor exercise final at the Games – but later had the honor stripped after a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) was upheld by International Olympic Committee. They decreed that Chiles’ coach had submitted an inquiry on the star’s D-score after the regulatory one-minute deadline as she instead had to settle for fifth place.

As she continues to chart her path following the events in the French capital over the summer, the American ace has now confirmed her plans for a new career in the future. She said at the Teen Vogue Summit: “Well, whenever that happens, I’m going to go into real estate. I love building. I love being creative. I love seeing things just be designed in different ways. That’s one thing.

“Do I want to become an actress? 100%. Do I want to sing? Sure. I can say all those things, but in reality, I think it’s just continuing to make a brand for myself and to make sure everybody understands that Jordan Chiles is Jordan Chiles, not just as an athlete, but also as a human.”

Providing insight into her mindset, the gymnast said: “When I was younger, I thought success was just going to school every day. I was like, ‘Oh yes, I’m successful. I got an A on my test. Yes.’ No, now that I’m older, there’s a lot of things that go into success. You can be successful not only within your brand but also with things that you do around yourself, with people, with jobs, with a career, with hobbies.”

“And also, I still to this day don’t consider myself famous. I don’t consider myself a celebrity. I don’t consider myself anything because I feel like I still have more to do within my community, more to do within myself. I need to mature. There’s a lot of things. So yes, I look at success differently.”

Chiles spoke recently about having her bronze medal stripped, with the star having since confirmed that she will appeal the decision. She told CNN: “Things can be really, really hard in your life and things may be stripped from you, and you’re going to have to deal with that and understand that you need to fight for what you’re fighting for.

“And that’s something that I’ve learned as well in the past three or four months just coming off of Paris,” she added, as she paid tribute to teammate Biles for inspiring her when it comes to “standing [her] ground”.
