As temperatures start to drop in Houston Texas Samantha and her boyfriend George like to rescue and foster as many homeless dogs as possible
She has been doing it for many years now with her boyfriend joining her along the way This is exactly how a Terrier mix named Boomer was rescued
He was living in a local parking lot with three other street dogs Boomer was filthy and limping which later they found out that he had been shot with a pellet gun
After seeing his condition rescuing Boomer became their priority but they didnt leave his friends behind
Although Samantha owns a couple of dogs she still fosters around 10 to 20 dogs at a time

Boomer was very scared from the beginning It took two days to trap and rescue him because he got startled easily
When Samantha finally brought him home Boomer was very unsure of everything
We tried to call him to come in and it was like there was a forcefield right at the door like he had been conditioned to just never come inside the house Samantha told The Dodo
It was simply heartbreaking to see him struggling to even step inside the house
Boomer We will show you what a great life is like Just trust us
He was unfortunately also very sick he had heartworm and a torn CCL which required major surgery
It took a lot of patience and love to show Boomer that the world is not such a scary place Slowly but surely he started to open up
As long as youre near him hes super happy Samantha said Only a month later Boomer was a completely different dog
