Dak Prescott Almost Lands a Sucker Punch on Referee Following Touchdown Against Steelers, Captured in Shocking Footage that Highlights the Intensity of the Moment.giang

Dak Prescott’s touchdown celebration nearly took a turn for the worse after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback came inches away from accidentally socking an NFL official in the face.

On Sunday, Prescott commanded the Cowboys to a 20-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. Upon receiving the ball down two with less than five minutes remaining in the game, Dallas orchestrated a 15-play, 70-yard game-winning drive to silence the away crowd.

On fourth-and-goal at the Steelers’ four-yard line, Prescott uncorked a bullet pass past the reach of safety DeShon Elliott and into the hands of wide receiver Jalen Tolbert, who fell into the endzone for the score.

As several Cowboys players raised their hands in unison to celebrate the touchdown grab, Prescott opted to instead spin around and emphatically pump his fist. Unfortunately for him, a referee was standing mere yards behind him and in the line of fire.

As Prescott punched the air, the official appeared to flinch and put his hands up in an attempt to protect himself. The signal-caller fortunately made no contact on his swing and nobody was harmed.

Taking to social media, fans poked fun at the near-catastrophic incident. “Lightning quick reflexes from my man Mr Ref,” one X user wrote, with another adding: “Ref damn near caught the worst stray of his life.”

Prescott finished the night completing 29-of-42 passes for 352 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Following the game – which was delayed over an hour due to inclement weather – he described the win as one he’ll never forget.

“I was saying it before the game started, like we’re not going to forget this one regardless,” Prescott told reporters during a post-game press conference. “With the delays, with everything that happened, it’s one of those games I don’t care how long you play, you’ll never forget it. I just kept saying, ‘Let’s make it one to remember.’ I think we did that in all the ups, the downs, the ebbs and flows.”

The Cowboys win was by no means pretty, with Prescott committing three costly turnovers – two of which came in the red zone. Dallas was additionally penalized 11 times for 87 yards and kicker Brandon Aubrey’s 38-yard field goal attempt was blocked in the second half.

When it mattered most, however, Prescott turned in a near-perfect performance by completing 5-of-7 passes for 46 yards on the Cowboys’ final drive of the game. “I love being in that. We practice it a lot,” he said of the game’s finish.

“You’re pissed at yourself for the turnovers, for the interceptions, but when I realize I have the ball, down 4 with an opportunity to score, with enough time, plenty of time, that’s all I can ask for.”

The Cowboys will look to extend their win streak to three games this weekend when they face off against the Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium.
