FOX NFL chiefs have reportedly given advice to Tom Brady – who’s already sought help from Terry Bradshaw.
Brady, 47, hasn’t necessarily hit the ground running in his new broadcast role. There’s extra scrutiny on him given the 10-year deal he signed worth $375million (£297m).
The seven-time Super Bowl champion hasn’t proved to be the most natural behind the microphone so far, although there’s a recognition that the transition from the gridiron to the commentary booth could take some time.

And Brady has shown improvement in recent weeks, which according to The Varsity newsletter comes off the back of a meeting he had with his bosses. It’s claimed he’s been told to focus on more of the actual action on the field, instead of looking to address the wider discourse around a match.
Brady has shown he’s keen to make progression himself, reaching out to FOX colleague and 30-year broadcast veteran Bradshaw to pick his brains about the role. “Tom did say ‘hey look, if you could give me some any advice at all, I really value what you have to say’ and I really appreciated that,” Bradshaw revealed on Today in October.

Brady’s recent acquisition of a five per cent stake in the Los Angeles Raiders has made his TV work all the more harder, as the NFL set out a strict set of rules especially for him that he must follow when live on air. He notably can’t criticize teams or referees.
He also can’t enter team facilities nor attend practices, and is forbidden from joining pregame production meetings – another awkward restriction with regards to his FOX employment. The final one is he’s subject to the league’s gambling and tampering policies.
It remains to be seen if Brady will be in it for the long haul. His job satisfaction took another hit at the weekend when he learned he’ll be working Thanksgiving to call the New York Giants against the Dallas Cowboys.
