In a shocking and heartbreaking incident in Tigrett, Tennessee, police were called to a yard where a 7-month-old baby girl was abandoned in a car seat. This troubling discovery led to the identification of four homicide victims, revealing a tragic family story, one that will haunt many in the community for years to come.
Deputies arrived to find the infant alone, and their investigation quickly uncovered the identities of her family members her father, 21-year-old Matthew Wilson; her mother, 20-year-old Adrianna Williams; her maternal grandmother, 38-year-old Cortney Rose; and her uncle, 15-year-old Braydon Williams. The four deceased individuals were found later that night on Carrington Road in Tiptonville, situated about 40 miles from where the baby was discovered.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has named Austin Robert Drummond, a 28-year-old man, as a key suspect in this case. Law enforcement officials have issued a warrant for his arrest. Drummond faces severe charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, multiple counts of possessing a firearm as a felon, and several additional offenses related to firearms during a felony.
At this point, many details surrounding the family’s tragic deaths remain unclear. However, Dyer and Lake County District Attorney Danny Goodman emphasized that this horrible act was not a random event, hinting at deeper complexities within the situation.
The investigation is being facilitated by a collaboration between the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, and other agencies, all united in their mission to seek justice for the victims.
Family friend Amy Anderson spoke to WREG 3, sharing her grief and reflecting on the impact this tragedy has had on the community. “They’re devastated. We are just thankful that the baby was spared; we are grateful for that,” she said, remembering Adrianna as “the sweetest person” who adored being a mother, and praising Matthew as a loving father. Anderson also spoke highly of Cortney, noting how much she cherished her children.
“This is just so tragic. Its tearing everybody apart,” she continued. “Everyone is trying to process this; rumors are flying, and I simply wish everyone would take a step back and allow the truth to unfold before jumping to conclusions. We need to minimize the heartache as much as we can.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has also announced a reward of up to $2,500 for anyone with information that could lead to Drummond’s capture, a crucial step in bringing justice to the grieving family.
Sheriff Jeff Box expressed his sorrow on Facebook, stating, “This is a deeply saddening day for our community. We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served.” As this case unfolds, many will be watching closely, hoping for answers and a resolution to a story that has shaken their community to its core.
