Lamar Jackson has shared a sweet nickname for team-mate Derrick Henry as the Baltimore Ravens continue to impress.
Jackson, 27, and the Ravens put the Los Angeles Chargers to the sword 30-23 on Monday (November 25) night, moving them to an 8-4 record for the season thus far. And after the victory, the quarterback spoke about success over one of the NFL’s toughest defenses at present – paying particular credit to running back Henry.
He explained: “He’s just a great all-around back man. I can’t give him credit enough for how locked in he is, how dynamic he is. I always say this, the name King Henry fits him well.” Henry managed 140 yards and 24 carries in the incredible win for the Ravens, while Jackson completed 16 of 22 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

They sit second in the AFC North after 12 games played, just behind an 8-3 Pittsburgh Steelers side. Henry has been a formidable force for the Ravens since arriving in the offseason following a seven-year stint with the Tennessee Titans – even competing for Offensive Player of the Year honors alongside Justin Jefferson and Saquon Barkley.
This season thus far, he has successfully completed 13 touchdowns and 1,325 yards on 221 carries of the ball – and Jackson claimed earlier in the season that he believes that Henry could break the NFL record for rushing yards in a single season. Last month, he said of his team-mate: “It’s there. I feel like he has a great chance of achieving that.

“I think he can do it. I believe he can do it.” However, breaking the record will be no easy feat for Henry, who must average 156 yards in the remaining five regular games of the season – unlikely but not impossible for the 6’3′ running back who weighs 250 lbs. If he is able to do so, it won’t be the first NFL record that Henry has set either – albeit it will be the first one that he has all to himself.
The 30-year-old currently holds the records for a 99-yard rushing touchdown, as well as the most career games with 200+ rushing yards (six) – but he shares the first honor with Tony Dorsett and the second with Adrian Peterson and O.J. Simpson respectively.
The Ravens next face the Philadelphia Eagles come December 1, with the NY Giants, Steelers, Houston Texans and the Cleveland Browns still to meet with thereafter.
